lic means to help the Government provide a continuous growth of the living standard, UNPR Chairman Gabriel Oprea announced in a press conference on Thursday.
It was Oprea's first political statement since he lost his position of deputy prime minister and interior minister last November.
He mentioned discussions with his party's leadership on the 2016 political strategy and goals; as a general guideline, the UNPR will support President Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos, although not unconditionally.
''In exchange, we demand governmental performances, economic results and policies for Romanians' security and prosperity," Oprea stressed, promising to publicly sanction any major failure of the government. "We do not owe anyone anything, we have compete freedom in saying when things go wrong in the activity of the incumbent Government, and we will do so whenever it's necessary," he insisted.
UNPR's priorities still are security and prosperity for Romanians, said Oprea. He explained it as "increased attention to the Army and military, policemen, gendarmes, [and] firemen," and support for the last year's commitments to increase the defence budget; also safety of everyone's future, working place, food security, and public order.
