The refurbishment of Brasov's Railway Station, financing possibilities for the regional hospital and the regeneration of the former industrial platforms Rulmentul and CET were at the focus of discussions held by Brasov mayor George Scripcaru with EBRD representatives, the municipality said in a release on Friday.
"We received the visit of EBRD Director for Romania, Mrs. Victoria Zinchuk, together with [EBRD Associate Director], Mrs. Venera Vlad, with whom we have been collaborating for a long time. We approached several important topics for Brasov, seeking to identify financing solutions through various programs run by the EBRD. We discussed the Brasov Railway Station - identifying financing for modernization and settling the relationship with the National Railway Company from a patrimonial and legal point of view. We also resumed the discussion about the regional hospital, and here we also set out to identify the next steps and stages we can access. Matters here are a little more complicated, because the government or EU financing sources are in a tight corner today. We also discussed urban reconversion projects in Brasov, namely the CET and the Rulmentul industrial platforms," mayor George Scripcaru declared, according to the cited release.
A new meeting is scheduled for the end of September, to which officials of the Romanian Railway Company and representatives of the Ministry of Transport will also be invited, the cited source said.
