National Defence Minister Ionut Mosteanu was in Kyiv on Sunday, where he attended the events marking Ukraine's Independence Day, the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) announced.
"Each day of Ukrainian resistance means more security for Romania and for all our allies. Romania firmly stands with Ukraine," Mosteanu conveyed in a message posted on his Facebook page, said Agerpres.
According to a MApN release, Mosteanu participated in a ceremony honoring fallen Ukrainian servicemen, where he laid a wreath, as well as in other official events organized by the Ukrainian authorities.
Moreover, the National Defence Minister attended the "Defence Cooperation Forum. Future Warfare," where he presented Romania's constant support for Ukraine, as well as the country's active role in international efforts to strengthen regional security and stability.
"Today in Kyiv, on the day when Ukraine celebrates its Independence, my thoughts are with all those who have lost their lives in this unjust war started by Putin's Russia. Innocent civilians, shattered families, children left without parents - the victims of Russian aggression cannot be forgotten. I laid a wreath in memory of all of them. The Ukrainian people deserve our full admiration and support for the courage with which they defend not only their freedom, but also Europe's security. Each day of Ukrainian resistance means mare security for Romania and all our allies. Romania firmly stands with Ukraine. We will not succumb to propaganda and pressure coming from parties aligned with Moscow," Ionut Mosteanu wrote on his Facebook page.
