Excessive heat, raising thermal discomfort enwrapping Bucharest City, eastern, southeastern Romania
Excessive heat and raising thermal discomfort will persist today in eastern and southeastern Romania, where highs are expected to reach 39 degrees Celsius, according to the National Weather Administration.
In south and east Muntenia, in most of Moldavia and in the continental part of Constanta County, highs of 37-39 degrees Celsius area forecast, and lows of between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius, with raising thermal discomfort as the temperature-humidity index will exceed critical 80.
All these areas are under Code Orange of heat affecting the following counties: Botosani, Iasi, Vaslui, Bacau (eastern part), Vrancea (eastern part), Galati, Buzau (mostly), Braila, Ialomita, Calarasi, Giurgiu, Teleorman, Constanta (western half), Ilfov, and Bucharest City.
Also today, the heat wave will persist in the northwestern, southern, eastern and some central parts of the country. There will be a Code Yellow of heat in place for northern Crisana, western Maramures, Transylvania and Moldavia, most of Oltenia, northern Muntenia and parts of Dobrogea. Thermal discomfort will be high, as the temperature-humidity index will exceed critical 80. Highs between 33 and 36 degrees Celsius, lows of between 17 and 21 degrees Celsius.
The counties under the Code Yellow are : Suceava, Neamt, Bacau (western part), Vrancea (western part), Buzau (partially), Constanta (eastern half), Tulcea, Prahova, Dambovita, Arges, Olt, Dolj, Valcea, Gorj, Sibiu, Alba, Cluj, Salaj, Bihor, and Satu Mare.
