A man in Bucharest killed a homeless person, and then transported the body through the city in a shopping cart, and threw it in a green area in District 1, informs Agerpres.
The Bucharest Public Prosecutor's Office announced on Monday that it has launched criminal proceedings against a 29-year-old man for the crime of murder.
"On 25.09.2024, between 15:00 - 16:00 hrs, while he was in Bucharest, District 1, in a building used by homeless people, amid a state of conflict, the defendant inflicted several blows with a hoe on the victim (a 34-year-old man), resulting in traumatic injuries incompatible with life. Subsequently, the defendant wrapped the body in two blankets and transported it with a shopping cart to a nearby overgrown area, where he abandoned both the body and the cart," prosecutors say.
The victim's body was discovered on September 28 by a person who notified the authorities by calling the single emergency number 112.
The killer was detained for 24 hours and then remanded in custody for 30 days.
The investigations are being continued by the Bucharest District Prosecutor's Office and the General Directorate of Police of Bucharest - Homicide Service, supported by police officers from the 2nd Police Section, the first to arrive at the scene.
