Balance of non-government loans, up 0,7 pct in December

The balance of non-government loans granted by credit institutions increased in December 2021 by 0.7% compared to the previous month (-0.01% in real terms), to 324.227 billion RON, informs the National Bank of Romania (BNR) in a press release sent on Wednesday.
RON-denominated loans, with a share of 72.4% in the total of the non-government loans, increased by 1.3%, whereas the foreign currency-denominated loans, when expressed in RON, with a share of 27.6%, dropped by 1% (similar evolution when the indicator is expressed in EUR).
Compared to the same period of 2020, the non-government credit registered an increase of 14.8% (6.1% in real terms), on account of 19.6% increase in RON-denominated loans (10.6% in real terms) and of the 3.9% increase in the foreign currency-denominated loans expressed in RON (when expressed in EUR, the foreign currency-denominated loans went up by 2.2%).
Government credit increased in December 2021 by 9% compared to November 2021, to 172.628 billion RON. Compared to the same month in 2020, it went up by 18.6 (9.6% in real terms).
At the end of December 2021, broad money supply (M3) recorded a balance of 564.423 billion RON. Compared to November 2021, it increased by 3.1% (2.4% in real terms), and compared to December 2020, it went up by 15.8% (7% in real terms).
