67 cases with Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 confirmed in past week
The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) informed that 67 cases with the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed during the week of September 18-24, of which 12 are variants of interest, told Agerpres.
According to INSP, so far 206 cases with BA.2.75 sub-variant, 567 cases with BQ.1, 406 cases with XBB sub-variant, 482 with XBB.1.5 sub-variant and 53 with XBB.1.5+F456L sub-variant of Omicron have been confirmed.
Up to September 24, 2023, 9,994 cases have been confirmed with the Omicron variant (VOC), of which 3,073 cases have been detected with the BA.2 sub-variant (31%), 62 cases with the BA.4 sub-variant (0.62%) and 3,481 cases with the BA.5 sub-variant (35%).
According to the INSP, 20,398 sequences have been performed up to September 24.
The 67 sequences in the last week were reported by INSP (35) and "Matei Bals" Institute (32).
